Description

As an FNR-ATTRACT Fellow, I lead the Physics of Living Matter Group at the University of Luxembourg. Our multidisciplinary team integrates physics, engineering and machine learning to study biological systems. Multiple bio-based, sustainable innovations, pioneered through our research, are at different stages of lab-to-market transition. I graduated from IIT Bombay, India with a BS and MS in Mechanical Engineering, and carried out my doctoral research in Physics at the Max Planck Institute, Germany. I am a Fellow of the Human Frontier Science Program, formerly based at the MIT (Cambridge, USA) and ETH Zurich, Switzerland. Among other roles, I currently serve as a Board Member of the Luxembourg Society for Microbiology and General Secretary of the Luxembourg Physical Society.
