With over 10 years of experience in finance and as a co-founder, I co-lead our team at Pixel Photonics through the adventures of a quantum and photonics spin-off. My know-how in strategy and my commitment as a start-up coach with >20 engagements have enabled us to develop innovative solutions and grow substantially. Our mission is to keep Pixel Photonics at the forefront of technological advancement while maintaining values of integrity and excellence. Working with my international team, I strive to leverage our diverse perspectives to achieve our corporate goals and improve our capital effectiveness.
Pixel Photonics is a leading German nanophotonics start-up founded in 2021 as a spin-off from the University of Münster with the goal of commercializing highly scalable single-photon detectors. Applications of Pixel Photonics' technology range from optical quantum computing, quantum key distribution and microscopy to metrology and sensing. The company consists of an international team of 39 employees pursuing a unique technological approach to single-photon detection that combines scalability with high detection efficiency at very high speed. In addition to the EXIST funding, the company has received venture capital funding from Quantonation and HTGF, as well as research grants from the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and SPRIND, the European Innovation Council (EIC) and the European Space Agency (ESA). Pixel is currently raising a €5M seed round to move out of the university clean room and significantly scale the business by leveraging photonic foundries.
